What to expect
Olof Hjalmar and composer Martin Dalin-Volsing present the cultural project Between Panels & Notes, in which they explore narrative connections between comics and music. They will also lead a public conversation about the methods they have developed for facilitating encounters between different media and practices, and the importance of sketches and flexible approaches in establishing shared frameworks and starting points. This will be a space for meetings and knowledge exchange, with a focus on collaborative and process-based work.
Olof Hjalmar is a comic artist and illustrator from southern Halland who explores how the structures and theories of comics can be applied beyond newspapers and books. He has previously led cultural projects where comics interacted with local places and stories through public installations. Together with writer and visual artist Ronak Rabiee, he has also worked on sociocultural projects aimed at promoting social integration and countering involuntary loneliness.
Martin Dalin-Volsing is a Malmö-based composer with classical training and extensive experience in electroacoustic music and multidisciplinary improvisation. In his ongoing search for new musical expressions beyond traditional concert formats, he explores form and structure in both temporal and spatial contexts.
The project was carried out with support from Region Halland.
