Vilma Flood had her breakthrough on the Scandinavian americana scene when her album “Moodswinger” got raving reviews in 2019. Not only has she been musically compared to the likes of Karen Dalton, Sharon van Etten, Ane Brun and Angel Olsen, there is also a certain similarity in the way she approaches her own artistry, constantly thriving and striving, adding modern twists and finding new ways to express herself. Artistic independence in its purest form. With her own explosive brand of indie-folk, bursting with moods and emotions reminiscent of the folkloristic heritage that is still very much alive around her home turf of the Dalarna province in central Sweden, Vilma Flood is one to watch.
Her latest EP came out in November of 2024, co-written and performed in a duet format with Christian Kjellvander. This release is a great display of Scandinavia’s deepest and most resonant voices.
